Pad-mounted Transformer Introduction
1 General Descriptions
The main purpose of this manual is for supporting transformer assembly/installation,
operation and usage by engineering personnel or technicians.
The transformer described in this manual is the completely insulated and hermetically sealed
three-phase distribution pad-mounted transformer, which is suitable for the three-phase power
distribution system of 10kV rated voltage and satisfies requirements specified in China national

Note: Before product delivery from the factory, the bushings are generally mounted on the
Mounting single-pass bushing: First clean the contact surface of both the bushing and seats
and smear them with lubricating silica. Rotate the bushing clockwise (for 7~7.5 cycles)
into the bushing seat and use special tool to tight it.
Mounting bi-pass bushing:
Clean with soft cloth both the internal and external surface of the bushing and bushing
seat. Then smear them with lubricating silica.
Put the connector of the bi-pass bushing into the seat and rotate it clockwise until the ratchet wheel gives out sounds like “ka, ka”, which means the ratchet wheel mechanism works, even though the bushing could be rotate in this direction unlimitedly.
Adjust the angle of the bi-pass bushing and lock it with the locking mechanism. Use multiply copper wires with cross sectionlarger than 1.5mm2 to connect the earthing hole on the bushing to the system earthing point.
HV Cable Phase Processing
(Please refer to the elbow plug instructions within the accessory box for detailed information
about the following steps.)
Step 1: Cable separating
First fix the HV cable onto the cable rack within the HV chamber. The separate the cables at a cable length larger than 800mm. Cut off the oversheath and armour strip. Strip off another 30mm oversheath downwards and leave 10mm inner sheath. Cut off other inner sheath and padding, just to preserve the
copper shielding layer and insulation shielding layer. Please see the right picture.
