Equipment Lifting

There are lifting eyes on the top edges of the enclosure for lifting the equipment. When
lifting the equipment, the angle between the wire rope and normal line should not be more than 30
degrees. If possible, transverse rod should be used to hold the wire rope, thus to avoid structure
distortion of the enclosure or the sub-assemblies. The majority of the total weight is from the
master chamber where transformer locates. Improper usage or operation of lifting equipment may
also cause personnel hurts. Therefore, full attentions must be paid during the lifting operation.


1) Use two wire rope to hang the four lifting eyes. Otherwise, the enclosure maybe tilting
against some direction, which may cause equipment distortion or damage.
2) No personnel should be allowed standing under the transformer enclosure or the lifting



1) Please place some soft cloth or rubber between the wire rope and lifting eyes, thus avoid
damages to the coatings at the lifting eyes which may produce rust in later usage.


2) If lifting equipment is not available at the engineering site, slide bar or roller could be
used. When uprising enclosure and placing the roller, please be sure to use at least two
jacks to rise the two adjacent corner stably, thus to avoid bottom distortion. The jack
stress should be applied at the junction of the two edges and pads must be used between
the enclosure bottom and the jack. DO NOT apply the jack stress at the radiating fins,
valves or thin steel plates. If roller is used, proper number of roller should be used to
distribute the weight. Before drawing the enclosure, please mounting pull rings besides
both sides of the enclosure bottom. DO NOT mounting the rings at the casting
components or other fin-shape components.
