Pad-mounted Transformer Introduction
1 General Descriptions
The main purpose of this manual is for supporting transformer assembly/installation,
operation and usage by engineering personnel or technicians.
The transformer described in this manual is the completely insulated and hermetically sealed
three-phase distribution pad-mounted transformer, which is suitable for the three-phase power
distribution system of 10kV rated voltage and satisfies requirements specified in China national

Preparing Elbow-shape Cable Plug
Note: Before preparing the elbow-shape cable plug, please check the plug and cable’s
cross section, to ensure their suitability. Otherwise, equipment test after installation may fails or
equipment may be damaged.
Step 1: Preparing plug terminal
Put the cable into the terminal and adjust the direction of the screw. Then, press and join
the cable and terminal for 2~3 turns. File the sharp angles and burrs. Use cable cleaning
paper to clean and remove the metal powder. Please see Fig.1
Step 2: Mount plug’s main body
First use cable cleaning paper to clean the surface of insulation layer and plug’s internal
wall. Wait until the cleaning solvent volatilizes and then smear silicone grease on the
surface of insulation layer and plug’s internal wall. Then, push the plug’s main body into
the terminal. Please see Fig.2.
Step 3: Mounting electric arc-suppressing rod
Screw the conducting rod into the terminal and use knife-type wrench tighten it. Use
insulating self-adhesive plaster or PVC tape to wrap the conjunction of the cable plug
with cable. Then apply heat-shrinkable sealing tube at this place and then
heat-shrinkable colored phase tape. Please see Fig.3.
Step 4: Earthing
Use multiple copper earthing wires with cross section larger than 1.5mm2 to connect the
plug’s surface with the system total earthing point.
