This manual is to support the installation and operation of oil-immersed series reactor which
is rated 6000kvar or below-6000kvar and 35kV or below 35kV.
Being serially connected with the capacitor groups and installed on the busbar, the series
reactor is the reactive compensation equipment of the whole power system. Its main functions are:
1) to reduce the switching-on inrush-current and inrush-current frequency of the capacitor group;
2) to reduce the harmonic wave voltage on the busbar and improve power supply quality;
3) to limit the higher harmonic current to avoid flowing into the capacitor group and to protect the
4) to reduce the over-voltage amplitude during the switching-off period. The product conforms
to such standards as GB10229-1998 reactor, IEC60076-6 Reactor, JB5346-1998 Series
The product features nice appearance, high mechanical strength, small size, low-loss,
high-reliability and etc.. It could be widely used in power transformation and transmission system,
electric railway, mining industry and etc.
To precisely calculate resonance frequency and intensity and avoid cavity resonance generated by the core structure during operation, simulation analysis is carried out for core mould design. Flexible connections are made between core and coils, core and bogie. With these measures adopted, the noise level is reduced by 10~15dB compared with the international standard.
During the HV winding design, rational structure is adopted to improve the electric distribution. With the lighting impulse wave simulation calculation and analysis being carried out with special auxiliary software, product's anti-lightning impulse capacity is greatly improved.
The series reactor is delivered to customer site mainly through road or railway
transportation. During these types of transportation, the series reactor is transported with
oil filled in the tank. All the dismantled attachments and other technical documents for
customers are put into the cases or boxes and transported to customer together with the
When lifting the series reactor, please use the four lifting lugs at the tanks. These lugs
are designed to hold the weight of the whole series reactor. DO NOT use the lifting rings
on the tank cover, which are used to lift the active part of the series reactor. However,
for hermetically sealed series reactor, the lifting rings on the cover could be used for
lifting the series reactor. During lifting operation, the included angle of the steel rope at
the hook should not be larger than 30°.
During series reactor transportation, the gradient of the series reactor should not be
larger than 15°.
