Rectifier Transformers are combined with a diode or thyristor rectifier. The applications range from very large aluminium electrolyses to various medium-size operation.

A Rectifier Transformer may have built-in or a separate voltage regulation unit. Due to a large variety of applications, they can have various designs up to a combination of voltage regulation, Rectifier Transformers in double-stack configuration, phase-shifting, interphase reactors, transductros and filter-winding.

Core


The core is manufactured with high quality cold rolled grain-oriented silicon steel of high magnetic conductivity. 45° mitring and 5-steps overlapping structure is adopted for the core design, thus to greatly reduce no-load loss and no-load current.


HV winding


HV winding is manufactured with high quality copper wire, reinforced with glass fiber and being casted with epoxy resin at vacuum state with pressure, having the resin fully impregnated into the coils in the most professional imported equipment. 
 

LV Winding


The winding conductor shall be made of limb wide copper or aluminium foil where the width
of the foil shall be equal to the final height of the winding. 
The foil winding shall be protected and reinforced using glass-fiber fabrics or quartz powder.

 

 

Cooling Channels


Cooling channels if any, shall be arranged in a vertical manner and all coils shall have an even
and smooth surface to minimize any dust accumulation as well as to give the maximum cooling
efficiency.


Dynamic Short Circuit Strength


All windings shall be designed and constructed as self-supporting to withstand without damage
the dynamic effects of external short circuit conditions, without taking into account the
contribution to the mechanical strength from insulating structure and other adjacent windings.
